Across Africa, women and hairstylists were left with few good options — quality hair tools and accessories almost always had to be imported from outside the continent. That gap was the problem we set out to solve.
Then we felt the gap ourselves.
As young entrepreneurs, importing meant waiting on manufacturing time, then six more weeks for shipping — every single order. Preordering through big companies in the country didn't fix the wait either, and it came at a cost: those companies sold at exorbitant prices, and it was the end consumer who paid for it.
So we went straight to the source.
We partnered directly with manufacturers in China and started buying in volume — full 40-foot containers, shipped in ourselves. Buying and shipping this way gets us pricing close to factory cost, often better than you'd get walking into the factory yourself, and we pass that saving on to every customer, no matter how small their order is.
